Privacy policy

BinCrumb is a Shopify app made by Highland Forge Design. It records which shelf holds each item in your store, so you can find stock and pick orders. This policy explains what data BinCrumb uses, where it is kept, and what it never touches. It covers the BinCrumb app and this website.

What BinCrumb reads from your store

When you install BinCrumb you grant it access through Shopify. It uses that access only to run the app:

• Products and variants: titles, photos, SKUs and barcodes, so it can show items and match scans. If you choose “Use this code” for an item with an empty Barcode field, BinCrumb writes that code to it.
• Inventory and locations: stock levels at your location. BinCrumb changes Shopify's stock only when you add, remove, audit or delete stock in the app.
• Orders: the order number, date, line items and fulfillment status of open orders, so the Pick orders page can show which shelf holds each item.

BinCrumb does not read your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses, and it does not read payment details.

Where your data is kept

Everything BinCrumb records is saved in your own Shopify store, as app data that belongs to BinCrumb: which shelf holds how many of each item, your list of shelves, your label settings, and which open orders have been picked. BinCrumb has no database of its own and keeps no copy of your store's data. A picked order is dropped from that record as soon as it is no longer open.

Our server

BinCrumb's pages are served from Cloudflare. When the app opens, it asks our server which BinCrumb plan your store is on. To answer, the server checks Shopify's sign-in token for your store and asks Shopify. It stores nothing. Like any web service, Cloudflare keeps short-lived technical logs of requests (such as time, address and status) to run and secure the service.

Billing

Subscriptions, free trials and payments are handled entirely by Shopify. BinCrumb never sees or stores your payment details.

What we never do

• We don't sell, rent or share your data.
• We don't use it for advertising, and BinCrumb contains no advertising or tracking.
• We don't contact your customers.

Your choices and deleting data

You can remove shelves and their records in the app at any time. If you uninstall BinCrumb, it can no longer access your store. Shopify sends us the standard privacy requests (customer data requests and deletion requests, and a store deletion request after uninstall); because BinCrumb holds no customer data and no copy of your store's data outside your store, there is nothing for us to return or erase. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app.
